Euphoria and Local Boys Do Good
Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

A note from Edwin:
After careful consideration, and with sincere gratitude for my experience with Local Boys Do Good and Euphoria, I chose to step away as a board member and active participant in the organization early this year.
Euphoria will always have a special place in my heart and I am truly proud and grateful to have been a small part of its development and our charitable endeavors over the past 8 years. As my family grows and my touring and recording commitments become greater, I find myself needing to make difficult decisions as to where best focus my efforts, and where they will be the most impactful. I recently was approached with a wonderful opportunity to assist one of Local Boys Do Good’s previous charitable partners, the Meyer Center, a cause that touches my heart in such a way that I simply could not ignore.
I am confident that Euphoria and Local Boys Do Good will continue to grow and succeed without my involvement. I know they are preparing to announce this year’s lineup, and I hope everyone is as excited about it as I am, and what I believe has become a very special weekend for Greenville. I especially want to thank Carl Sobocinski, LBDG’s co-founder, our sponsors, past and present board members, employees, and our wonderfully dedicated volunteers who have all worked so hard over the past years.
Thank you!
Edwin

MEYER CENTER FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN NAMED TOP OF EDWIN MCCAIN’S BUCKET LIST

Greenville, SOUTH CAROLINA (March 4, 2013) – Edwin McCain has been chosen to appear on the new reality television show The Celebrity Bucket List which highlights a celebrity each week to find out more about them as a real person.  The nationally televised show focuses on the person as a whole, what motivates them and how they have reached their personal level of success.  Show host, Scott Savlov dives into the top 10 items on each celebrity’s bucket list, things they hope to do at some point in life.  Then he helps make one of those items on the list of dreams become a reality.

When Edwin McCain was approached to be on the show he told Savlov he had lived a much fulfilled life and the one thing he would be most proud to check off of his personal bucket list would be to ensure that the children at the Meyer Center have a secure future.  At that point, Savlov set out on his mission to help McCain set up an endowment fund that provides financial security and stability for the Meyer Center for years to come.  The 30 minute show, which will air on Biography Friday, March 29 at 7:30am and A&E Saturday, March 30 at 6:30am, focuses on Edwin McCain’s involvement with the children at the Meyer Center and his undying commitment to the mission of providing a place of hope for children with disabilities. “Edwin is a great friend to our children.  They love to hear him sing and play his guitar,” says Louise Anthony, Executive Director of Meyer Center.  “Edwin has supported us for many years; he and Dr. Meyer shared a friendship and a passion for providing children with disabilities the education and therapy they need to lead a fulfilled life.  We are grateful that we are on the top of his Bucket List.  The money raised for his endowment fund, the McCain Family Fund for Children, will help provide us the ability to carry on our mission for generations to come!”

About the Meyer Center:  Since 1954 the Meyer Center for Special Children has helped thousands of preschool children and their families, and its innovative program is seen as the leader in the Upstate.  The Meyer Center provides educational services and physical, occupational and speech therapy for over 180 children with disabilities each year.  For more information call 864.250.0005 or visit www.meyercenter.org
